The ≫shift≪ candle holder draws on the fragility and visual airyness of colourless glass: transparent lines hold four candles in seemingly levitating positions. Shift is composed of two multiply bent glass rods whose ends flushly fade into fixtures for four candles. The consistent diameter of the glass rods, the metal adapters and the candles create the impression of seamless material transition. The lights are kept at different heights and in relatively great distances to each other, causing the perceived overall structure to shift with one’s viewing angle.
